Sustainability is an ongoing journey for Parklands Resort & Conference Centre Mudgee, with a commitment to improving environmental and community practices across every part of the operation. As a regional resort, the focus is on reducing waste and resource consumption, educating guests and team members, supporting the local Mudgee community, and raising awareness of the natural environment surrounding the property.

Amenities & Waste Management

Guest amenities are regularly reviewed to reduce unnecessary single-use items and packaging, while sustainability information is provided through a digital guest compendium to minimise printed materials. Waste is separated into general waste, cardboard, glass and recyclable materials, with a continued focus on improving recycling and reducing landfill waste, particularly during conferences and events.

Sustainable Housekeeping

Our housekeeping practices focus on reducing resource consumption without compromising guest comfort. Guests are encouraged to participate in our linen and towel reuse program, helping to conserve water, energy and cleaning chemicals. We also work with laundry supplier Glenray, which uses reusable garment bags to transport linen, eliminating the need for single-use plastic wrapping.

Energy & Water

Opportunities to reduce energy and water consumption are continually reviewed across guest rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, conference facilities and common areas. LED lighting has been progressively introduced across the property, with lighting and equipment usage reviewed to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.

Food, Beverage & Events

Our Food & Beverage team works to minimise waste through careful preparation and portion control, with surplus food reused or redistributed where practical. We prioritise local suppliers where possible, supporting the regional economy and reducing transport impacts. Sustainability is also considered across conferences, weddings and events through the use of paper-based service items, wooden cutlery and encouraged waste separation.

Community Support

Parklands Resort is committed to supporting the Mudgee community through local employment, purchasing from regional suppliers and helping drive visitation to local businesses, wineries, attractions and tourism operators. This includes:

  • Promoting local attractions, wineries, restaurants and experiences to guests
  • Engaging local suppliers and service providers where practical
  • Supporting local community groups, charities and fundraising initiatives where possible
